Behind the Curtain | DECOREX 2019

There was such an inspiring representation of designers at Decorex this year! Here were some of our favourites:

JENNIFER MANNERS

It was lovely talking to Jennifer about the importance of sustainable design; Jennifer won the best sustainable product award for Decorex 2019. The collection is made from 100% recycled plastic (PET) a new and refined approach to make sure the quality and the durability of the rug is not effected. The rugs are made in India and the company work along side Good Weave to ensure the process is fair and ethical towards workers in the textile industry. The designs and feel of the rugs prove you can be sustainable and ethical with out comprising on style and comfort.

NIKI JONES

With a simple yet inviting set up, Niki Jones displayed a clear colour story through out her rugs and cushions. Her designs moulded into her walls as she picked out key colours to highlight in her display. Showcased were hand made throws, embroidered cushions and rugs. Niki’s rugs are hand crafted in Nepal and she also works with Good Weave . She stands for ethical products which can be invested in and personalised to you.

A RUM FELLOW

A Rum Fellow greeted us right at the entrance of Decorex. One of the most contemporary stands at the event; Fabrics were draped artistically on the central pillar, but the main focus was their beautiful new rug collection, which are full of pattern and colour.

AMY KENT

Amy Kent produces hand crafted rugs made in Nepal and were one of the few ethical rug company who used pattern and colour in their designs. It was a simple but vibrant stand which show cased a range of rugs both contemporary and modern.

THE RUG COMPANY - MARY KATRANTZOU

The Rug Company had many ranges on display, however the standout designs were by Mary Katranzou, a London based fashion designer. For the collaboration she looked at past designs from her collection and chose which she thought would come to life in an interior setting. These bold floral prints were seriously eye-catching!

BERT AND MAY

The encaustic tile and natural paint company had a beautiful set up, with their reclaimed vintage tiles at the fore, emphasising their earthy pastel colour palette and rustic charm. Love!

We hope you have enjoyed our round up!
